Christmas in Fukuoka 2014/11/30 11:02
Hi,

I am planning to Fukuoka this Christmas but I am not yet decided if I should stay there for two nights or just one. I want to see the illumination in the city and other great places which this city offers. Will two days and one night be enough for that? Or I should stay for one night more?

Also, what places do you recommend I see during this season?

Thanks!

If your primary interest is the Xmas lights, then perhaps 2 days are enough. The places to see them are by Hakata Stn and in Tenjin. The Fukuoka Tower also is decorated in a special way for Xmas. For Hakata Stn, see:

It's supposedly done in a European style, and with a 14m lighted tower and 700,000 lights.
You could squeeze most of the best into two days, but it may be quite busy. If you want a good resource on what to see and do, look at:

Then you can see what interests you and if you want to spend a 3rd day. Nearby there is also Dazaifu, and in Kurume the giant kannon Buddha:

You don't give much info on where you're coming from, or visa status. But if on a Temporary Visitor Status, a Fukuoka Tourist City Pass might save you some money:
