Route for Eastern Hokkaido from Sapporo

Hi,I am Planing to go Eastern Hokkaido in February.
My Planing is from :
Sapporo to Asahikawa to Sounkyo to Abashirito Shiretoko to
Lake Akan to Kushiro to Tokachigawa to Sapporo.
Can you Advise and help me to plan the itinerary for these destination.
I have 12 days in Hokkaido,so planing not to rush and more relax in the good location.
So please assist me and what transportation is better to go these destination,this is the first I am travelling alone and usually my daughter plan the itinerary.

Heavy snow season take a taxi except from/to Sapporo.

Hi, you can take the buses and also the trains to the major cities.
But depending on the snowfall, those will probably be delayed.

Thank you for your information and advise, is great help to me.
I have one more question, I have one day free on my way from Abashiri to Shikaribetsuko,but I want to visit Lake Mashu and Lake Kusharo,which place should I have to stay is convenience to access to these two lake and easy to go Shintoku for the next morning.
