Hi,
I'll be in Hokkaido in late March and I'm interested in going to Daisetsuzan for some casual hiking but I'm not sure of the weather then. Would it still be snowing heavily?

Yes super heavy.
Mid Hokkaido area coming Spring around mid May.
Not end of winter also ski sites not closed.
