Kagoshima to Ishigaki or Miyako? 2014/12/15 22:29
Dear members,

I know there are already some threads about travelling from Kagoshima to Ishigaki and Miyako. Despite that, I am totally lost on how to choose the best option and manage the booking.
I read about Discount Air Tickets for foreign travellers and looked at the oneworld® website, but ended up even more confused. Honestly, I donLt get it.

I will be in Japan mid February to early April next year and would love to spend the last week on Ishigaki or Miyako Island.
Both seem very appealing to me and if there is any difference in price I would just go with the cheaper one.

Is there anyone who could provide me with an English booking website which offers cheap flights to one of these destinations?

Or any other information that might help me to get the whole idea of discount air tickets and precisely how they can be purchased?

If there is any recommendation on a Japanese travel agency instead, ILd be fine with a phone number since I speak enough Japanese to manage.. I suppose :D

Thanks a lot in advance!

There are no direct flights from Kagoshima to Miyako or Ishigaki, you will have to transit, probably in Tokyo, Osaka or Naha.

For Ishigaki, the cheapest option will probably be with Peach via Osaka.

For Miyako, the cheapest will probably be to Naha with Solaseed or ANA, and then to Miyako with Skymark. Note that tickets for those airlines are currently on sale for flights up to March 28 only.

By the way, the discounted tickets for tourists will not be advantgeous for you. They all cost at least 10,000 yen per flight, but the flights in the normal market will generally be cheaper than that.

Possible exceptions are for Kagoshima/Naha, or if you just dislike low-cost airlines and prefer to fly only with JAL or ANA.

A use of stopover could make a ticket cheaper. I mean the destination is set to Ishigaki or Miyakojima with a stopover at Haneda, for example. Check this with ANA or others.

Thanks a lot for your fast reply!
I checked flypeach and like you said, Osaka to Ishigaki seems to be a good option.
At least it is much cheaper than anything I found so far :)
