Anyone have any idea if luggage items can be kept overnight, apart from additional costs. I've read that they empty at the end of train services.. if someone could advise on this would be great!

that is not true.
you can leave your luggage overnight at coin lockers. if you leave your luggage for more than 3 days, they may collect yours from coin lockers.
