Does JR Rail Pass cover airport to Tokyo?

we are a family of 7 and will be spending a few days in Tokyo and then heading to Hakuba. Are we best to get a JR pass and will this allow us transport from airport to Tokyo around Tokyo and then to hakuba and back? Would there be additional costs?

In any case, regardless of coverage it seems that the JR Pass would not pay off for you: Tokyo to Hakuba is only 7560 yen one way.

Airport access to both Narita (Narita Express) and Haneda (Tokyo Monorail) are covered by the Japan Rail Pass. Whether it pays off or not depends on your itinerary. You may want to also consider the JR East Pass too.
