Hi,
Could anyone advise on what could I do in Gifu during February? I have plans to visit Shirakawa-go and Takayama so far. Will be there for about 2-3 nights. I have one day which I have no idea what to cater it for when I depart from Tokyo. Unsure should I go straight to Takayama or is there anything to check out around.
Would Gero Onsen worth stopping over for a visiting during a winter period? What about Okuhida?

If you like onsen, Gero and Okuhida are both very famous and well-liked.
Depending on how much you want to do in Takayama, you could include Hida-Furukawa, as mentioned above with it.
Hida-Furukawa is smaller but much less touristy than Takayama. Walking along the canal is still very beautiful, especially with snow. The various artisans there are also interesting.

Closer to Nagoya I can recommend Inuyama Castle, and the associated Festival Doll Museum. In February the garden may be a little barren, though.
