Use JR Sanyo Sanin Pass to go around Fukuoka? 2015/1/28 23:21
Hi!

I am planning to go to Osaka-Hiroshima-Fukuoka this April.

Will I be able to use the JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass to go around Fukuoka and visit the sightseeing spots? Or do I have to buy the Fukuoka Tourist City Pass too?

The pass is not valid on any transportation in Kyushu except on the Sanyo Shinkansen.

To go around the city, you'd need the Tourist City Pass, or since many of the best places are close to a subway stop, a day pass for the subway would pay off too.
One of the best places to see though is 20 minutes by train from Hakata Stn. which is the Nanzoin Temple. Absolutely mind-blowing and free:

You'd need to get a JR ticket for the train though.
