Osaka to Nagasaki JR? 2015/2/1 17:37
Hello,

I looked it up and you have to catch Tokaido / Sanyo Shinkansen from sinosaka to hakata and then a JR train.

I have a JR pass but I think the tokaido shinkasen is not covered by the pass?? If so, is there any way to get from osaka to hakata that will be covered by the JR pass?

The section from Shin-Osaka to Hakata is called Sanyo Shinkansen:

That is incorrect. It is true that Nozomi and Mizuho trains are not covered, but the other trains, such as Sakura, Hikari and Kodama are covered.

The following page explains the trip:

Yes, ALL JR trains are covered, except the Shinkansens mentioned above.

Except also many trains which are covered only partially, such as night trains and trains running on non-JR tracks.

The Kamome is fully covered (as long as you don't use a Green seat if you have an ordinary pass, of course).
