Hi. Planning to visit Japan in late October / early November. What will the weather and so be like? Some say it will snow at the top area, is this true? What clothing recommended compared to rest of south Japan?

Is that for all of Tateyama? It would be quite a hassle to bring a big winter jacket for just a few hours...
