How to enjoy Hanami: solo traveller to Tokyo

What would you advise a solo traveler to enjoy the Hanami? It seems most of these are geared towards group activities. There is excellent information here on when and where to go to view sakura but was wondering how to maximize the experience.

Just walk about or take a bicycle. Having a good camera helps. Having a snack and having an empty bench helps too.

Bring a bottle of alcohol, sit somewhere, get tipsy, and make friends with the people around you.
