Assuming you're talking about long-term stay, here are a list of available types

I don't think there is anything which specifically relates to your plans, so unless someone else here has some experience in the area, it might be difficult.

It's decided on a case-by-case basis.

So it gets reviewed each time i extend it?

No, the extension can be denied, for example if it is determined that you have no good reason to stay longer.

But first you have to qualify for it. There's no need to ask questions about extending something you haven't yet been approved for. Get your visa first then concern yourself with trying to extend it.

No, experience alone won't guarantee you a visa. It's case by case.

Does a games tester count as a artist visa?

Very probably not, but it may qualify for another one, such as "Journalist" if you work for a foreign video games magazine. More information is needed.

You mean as an employee of a video game company? The closest thing I can see is "Engineer", but in order to qualify, the job must require advanced technical skills (at least at the level of a university degree).

You have no chance of getting a visa as a game tester working at home for a UK company. Forget about it.

It's unlikely you have any real experience as a film maker, so you can forget about an artist visa for now.
