Hiking Trail from Kurama to Kibune

I wanted to hike over the mountain trail from Kurama to Kibune this weekend, but I just read somewhere that the trail is closed during the "winter months". I tried to find proper information on that, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if the trail will be open or still closed at the end of February? The hike would be my main reason going to these two towns, so it would be nice to know if anyone has reliable information on this. Thanks!

From what i can see it does not close. But either way, do not go. In my opinion it is hugely disappointing. If you want to see some nature Mt Hiei, and the marshlands in central japan are better.
Heck, even mount koya was better.
