JR Kanto Area Pass

Hi, this pass only all travel up to Karuizawa only. If I want to travel to Nagano on the Nagano Shinkansen, can I just top up the fare difference from Karuizawa to Nagano. Or do I have to break my journey in Karuizawa? Thank you for kind advise!!

As you can have free seat reservations with this pass, I would suggest that you make seat reservations to karuizawa and at the same time, purchase the onward ticket with or without seat reservations from karuizawa to Nagano. If you use your pass to cover up to Sakudaira, you will pay Y3330 instead of Y3680 (reserved seating). There are conductors on board the trains as well and I believe you can also approach them to purchase tickets.

Fare adjustment :

Pay regular fare from Karuizawa and Nagano/oneway all.(if round pay both)
