Okishima (Shiga)

I want to visit Okishima in Lake Biwa, Shiga to see the cats but can't find any information in English about how to get there. Has anyone been here as a tourist before? Where is the closest train station and is there a ferry that goes there?

First thought just "Use google translate"... but understood not so easy and enough.

Get off JR Omi-hachiman stn[近江八幡駅] of JR Biwako line north exit[北口] out
then take local Omi tetsudo bus[近江鉄道バス] (regular size bus)
for kyukamura Omi-hachiman[休暇村 近江八幡]

get off Horikiri-ko(ferry port)[堀切港] bus stop and walk down to port 1min.

Bus fare 710Y/oneway about 35min but operate numbers a lot.

Get off JR Omi-hachiman stn[近江八幡駅] of JR Biwako line north exit[北口] out as 2)
or next JR Azuchi stn[安土駅] north exit as 3)
then take Omi Hachiman town small mini-bus "Akakon bus"[あかこんバス]
get off last bus stop "Horikiri[堀切]" (not Horikiri-ko/port).

Bus fare 200Y/oneway but fewer than Omi tetsudo bus.

Both buses are no need booking.
But "Akakon bus" not for tourist if island people coming a lot
take another way strongly recommend. (taxi around 3000Y/oneway)

Ferry 500Y/10min no need booking no ticket office pay after ride.
And bad weather (also strong wind) make cancel
watch carefully weathrer info if no rain icon day.

Akakon is exactly "red" colored but not spicy no different taste just same regular one.
