Asahidake in early July? 2015/3/11 14:21
Hi,

We're doing a 10 days trip to Hokkaido in end June/ early July.

Is Asahidake worth a 1-2 days stay in that time?

Thank you.

Regards,
Dennnis

Basically no problem just a bit early out of best season.

Hokkaido won't be tsuyu(rainy season) but somedays falling usual
watch carefully weather info.
No strong and tyhoon season no bad effections.

Thank for the reply.

I was actually wondering, is there really much to do in Asahidake, other than hiking? We are bringing out 2 year old son, so long hikes might no be possible.

Asahidake is indeed geared more towards a relaxing onsen stay with hiking the major activity in town and not much else. Sounkyo may have slightly a bit more to offer. Besides the Kurodake Ropeway there are the twin falls of Ginga no Taki and Ryusei no Taki as well as Obako. And if not for anything else Sounkyo has more shops and their tourist information center is bigger with more hands-on displays.
