Nikko 2 day pass return trip

Hello everyone,
If i'll be staying in Nikko for 3D2N (Going on 14th, going back to Tokyo 16th morning), is it still possible for me to use the return trip back to Tokyo on the last day, or will i have to pay a separate fee?
I have a strong feeling that the return trips has to be within 2 days, but i'd just like to make sure. Thank you.

No, the 2 day pass must be used on 2 consecutive days. You should look into one of the 4 day passes instead.

Or do you think it'll be a better idea (and cheaper) if i leave for Tokyo on the second night (15th)?
