Changing Singapore dollars in Tokyo 2015/3/27 19:04
I am from malaysia and We have some sgd and I was thinking about changing it to yen in japan.

If I were to change it in malaysia I would have to first change it to myr then yen. Paying commission twice.

But I was also told that rates in japan are not as good as in malaysia?

The rates for 1sgd - 2.67 myr
1000 yen is 31.25 myr

Anyone knows if it is better or worse in tokyo?

The MUFJ exchange rates are pretty good - the rate they offer at the airport appears to be the same they offer at their branches.

Hi Joanne,

Not sure which part of Malaysia you're from, but I personally find exchanging SGD to yen in Singapore the best. If you're near (ex, from JB) and have the time to make the trip down to SG, go to Raffles place, The Arcade's Sheen International Exchange (level 2). They are reputed to have one of the best Yen exchange rates in Singapore.

Compared to Narita airport, it's better to change it in Singapore. I changed sgd for yen at 1.1535 yesterday.
