2 night stay at Kawaguchiko

All,
I just do some research but finally need to ask for your recommendation about this trip.
- I plan to spent 2 night in Kawaguchiko around 29-31 OCt. Actually I plan for Honeymoon trip but not sure it worth money and time (as you know a good hotel are really expensive there).
after Fuji I will heading north-east for Alpen route probably spent a night in Matsumoto and then another in Takayama.

And what's your question? By the way, if you don't want a super fancy hotel, you can find decent ones at very reasonable prices in the Mt. Fuji area (like anyhere else in Japan, for that matter).
