I will be in Tokyo for 5 months and I want to be able to make and receive calls on my iPhone. What services can make that possible???

If you only need calling then you can get a prepaid voice sim from softbank.

Presumably you'll be in Japan on a resident visa? If that's the case then you should also look into b-mobile's postpaid voice/data offerings.
