JR Tateyama Kurobe kippu

We are planning to use the JR Tateyama Kurobe kippu.

We understand that the travelling between Toyama and Shinanoomachi is free going back and forth. May I confirm if we can enjoy going up and down the alpine route between Toyama and Shinano Omachi for 2 or 3 days using this pass?

JR Kurobe alpine kippu is good for people living in Kyoto or Nagoya.
The ticket is sold by JR Tokai or JR west and include the train fee from Kyoto or Nagoya. JR east (Tokyo area) does not sell such ticket.
Ticket include JR Toyama station to Murodo,and whole alpine route to Ohgisawa and JR Ohmachi station.
It valid for 8 days.

Whole Tateyama-Kurobe alpine route cost 10,850yen.

Our intended itinerary is like this:

Day 1: Nagoya to Nakatsugawa. Deposit our luggage at coin luggage lockers at Nakatsugawa station. Do the Tsumago to Magome hike.
Back to Nakatsugawa to pick up our luggage, and travel to Shinano Omachi.

Day 2: Shinano Omachi to Kurobe Dam to Murodo, and back to Shinano Omachi.

Day 3: Shinano Omachi to Kurobe Dam to Murodo to Toyama.
We would like to enjoy the alpine route for 2 days using this ticket where travel between Toyama and Shinano Omachi is free. Is it allowed?

Day 4: Toyama

Day 5: Toyama to Nagoya


Please advise whether this itinerary is doable?

Yes, the ticket allows for free travel between Shinano-Omachi and Toyama during the validity of the ticket (up to 8 days).

There are just some minor limitations that are very unlikely to affect you:

1) when using the bus between Shinano-Omachi and Ogizawa, you are allowed to get on and off only the following bus stops: Shinano-Omachi, Omachi Onsengo, Hinatayama Kogen and Ogizawa.

2) on the train between Tateyama and Toyama, the ticket is only available on non-reserved seats.

3) the ticket is not valid on the line between Toyama and Unazuki Onsen (Kurobe Gorge).
