Alpine Route Bus Schedules

We intend to do a day trip to the Alpine Route from Nagoya and return to Tokyo on the same day.

Have checked hyperdia but there isn't a bus schedule from Ogizawa onwards to Tokyo so we don't exactly know if the buses run at all.

Where can I get the schedules and what is the best way to go from the alpine route back to Tokyo?

There is no bus from Ogizawa to Tokyo. There are to main routes to go from Ogizawa to Tokyo (bus and shinkansen via Nagano or train via Matsumoto). Both of them are explained in more detail here:

What happens if you miss that last bus? Is there a different one? Would we be left stranded at Ogizawa?

Our plan was to spend overnight in Tokyo as we have a mid-morning flight the next day.

Is there a different bus we could take from Ogizawa that goes all the way to Tokyo? Does Willer do that?

Ideally we would like to take the shinkansen from Nagano but it seems not possible, if we miss the last bus.

I am not aware of such a bus.
