Kitschy Locations - Your Favorite Places

Hi All,
At present, I'm still planning my trip in June/July (I know - rainy season - yuck!) and wanted to hear of some kitschy places you may have visited in Japan.
Currently - the only place which I'll be visiting that may be in this league is Spain Mura near Toba.
For me, I have not really found a lot of kitschy places in Japan that I've visited myself apart from the Cup Noodle Museum in Yokohama.
One place that I thought may have been kitschy was Meiji Mura near Inuyama but it ended up being really done well and quite enjoyable - specifically with all of the late blooming sakura (hint hint!!) that should be coming into bloom in the next two weeks.
The only reason I am asking this as I'm going to be seeing a lot of traditional Japan, including places not on any guide books and would like to see another side of Japan which came out during the 1980's bubble....

I agree with the hotel in Wakayama. Due to the kitsch value, I almost changed my hotel but I don't want to pay $250 a night for a strange looking hotel.....

How about the Hello Kitty theme park in Tokyo: http://en.puroland.jp/Or at least have a cappuccino with Hello Kitty latte art at the Hello Kitty Cafe Restaurant (HKCR) in Yokohama, which is decorated to look like a traditional British country estate: http://animalcafes.com/v/25456.htmlWhile you're down in Yokohama, the original Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is always fun - it's a recreation of a 1950s-era downtown Tokyo neighborhood: http://bento.com/phgal3.htmlLegoland in Daiba, Tokyo, features a miniature recreation of present-day Tokyo made from 1.5 million Lego bricks, with moving trains and boats and a day-and-night lighting cycle: http://www.whereintokyo.com/venues/25409.htmlIf you don't have time to visit both a maid cafe and an animal cafe, there's a weird rabbit cafe in Akihabara called Candy Fruit where the staff dress up as maids: http://animalcafes.com/v/25482.htmlIf you want to boast of visiting a destination that none of your friends can match in terms of sheer pointlessness and obscurity, look no further than the Snowdome Museum in Ikejiri Ohashi, Tokyo, where you can marvel at the world's largest collection of snow globes: http://www.whereintokyo.com/venues/25420.html
