Metalbar in Tokyo? 2015/4/20 04:54
Hey there! I wanted to ask if there are any good Metalbars in Tokyo with good music. But I still have a problem: with 19 years, can you enter bars where they sell alocoholic beverages? If I'm informed right, you don't have the right to drink alcohol until you've reached 21 years. Thanks for your answers :D

There are two that I know of--Godz and Rock Bar Mother. http://traveljapanblog.com/wordpress/2013/07/koba-in-hiroshima/

The legal drinking age is 20, but it isn't policed as much in Japan as some other places (like the USA).

Thanks a lot! So you're allowed to enter a bar even if you're underaged?

I have never seen someone get carded in Japan. You have to push a button saying you are 20 when you buy liquor in a convenience store, but even that is self report as far as I can tell.

Of course, I look much older than 20 so maybe that is why I have never experienced it.
