Can I switch visa from US passport to Irish? 2015/4/28 10:38
I am an American in Japan on a work visa, and I recently got my Irish passport through the Iris registry of foreign births. I would like to register my visa through my Irish passport rather than the American. Has anyone out there done this? I just want to know what to expect when I go to the immigration office (besides, 'eeeto, muzukashii'.
Thank you

Yes, it is possible to change your nationality in the resident register.

Your status of residence is not tied to your US passport, and as for your visa, it became a meaningless piece of paper at the moment you entered Japan.
