100 yen legal tender notes worth anything 2015/5/21 20:15
I have Uncirculated 100 yen legal tender notes in circulation from 1953 to 1974. It was replaced by the 100 yen coin in the late 1950s. The man pictured is Itagaki Taisuke, who was a Japanese politician in the late 1900s and arguably the leader of Japn's first political party. What could they be worth?

Maybe just under "so so".
But young Japanese don't know usual

百円紙幣(100円札) are 8 types(editions) exsit

last type B号券(B-go-ken) are printed numbers a lot and no big worth usual
if not perfect new(super good conditions) or rare error printed one.

unfortunately, the Itagaki Taisuke note is worth only the face value of 100 Yen unless it's consecutive serial numbers like, 111111 or 123456.

Does anyone know when the 500 Yen note was taken out of circulation - or was there ever a 500 yen note??

Apologies for the question - curiosity killed the cat...

Thanks for the link. It was actually more interesting than most wikipedia articles - specifically why we have a 2000 Y note....
