Looking at 5 days osaka, kyoto, nara, universal And 5 days - tokyo
Would it be efficent and cheaper to get two separate passes for these trips kansai and tokyo or kne jr pass for 7 days?

The Japan Rail Pass does not pay off for your itinerary. It is best to use just regular tickets for the only long-distance journey and to use IC cards for the urban transportation. You may also want to consider day passes for specific cities. Osaka, in particular, has some attractive day passes. Kyoto's and Tokyo's day passes are less cost-effective.
