looking for super Luxury Ryokan in Kyushu

Looking for Super high end Ryokan in Kyushu-area of Aso,Oita,Yufuin,Beppu,Usuki, or where would be most beautiful and elegant area to explore in Kyushu,and easy access(with hired Car with Driver )Kagoshima is too way South,want to stay North East of Kyushu for two weeks,(We like Hoshinoya but in kyushu=hoshinoya room is too small 78 M)

Hoshinoya looks like it has larger rooms up to 122m - are they simply unavailable?

Are you after mountains, river views, ocean? If you are spending for luxury, you may as well get the preference you are after.

Hi Liem-you suggestions are perfect,Love it -immediately went to the site -&it,a gorgeous Ryokan- little smaller(10 tatami +6+6) than I want but its great choice.we might need 3 rooms for 3 couples-we stayed Hoshinoya in Nikko Lake view(Fabulous 170m & 125m)for two couples,just got back from Japan trip& another friends want to go next year too,now end up 3 couples,looking for fabulous Ryokan in kyushu to planning for next trip,I need another Ryokan for different area- so 6 days each stay or 4 days for 3 places,want to fabulous experience in Kyushu.Thank you for your answer.

Never been to Kyushu,I read Beppu is tacky(is it true?)or explore for day trip there? or not worth it to visit,is any Fabulous Ryokan in Usuki any( Ocean view) ? I want to go to Yamadaya restaurant for Fugu dishes in Usuki, 90%Advertise for Cheap & bargain Ryokans but difficult to find Luxury Ryokan to find -I had to research 8 month to look each Ryokans for last trip.in Tokyo out of hundreds of hotels -stayed Peninsular top floor- top notch service-very satisfying experience,kanazawa stayed Matsusaki Houou Rooms,extra ordinary Kaiseki Dinners and breakfast-Please let me know the Fabulous Ryokans in Kyushu(Takefue is done-this kinds of unique Ryokan looking for)please help!!

Hanzuiryo Villa is fabulous-but its Nagasaki-I might thinking to go that area(will reaserch any interesting to do there?) because fabulous this Ryokan-next trip theme will be Top Notch Ryokans Experience in Kyushu,not too much touristing,or shopping(may visit to buying Imari and porcelains other than that no interesting to shopping)beautiful Ryokans ,Onsen , good books,Kaiseki Ryori, good Sake with our good friends,Thankx for Informations, great help so far,

Your suggestions are Awesome -I spend lot,s of time to researched now I had expanded area to Kagoshima- so Takefue in kumamoto maybe to Yufuin then to Hanzuiryo Unzen area Tenku no Mori sounds fabulous-in this case -coming from Los Angeles have to stay over night in Osaka for rest one night to continue to Kyushu(if there direct flight to Fukuoka?)take Shinkansen to Kumamoto will be fun trip too-then I was looking for Luxury Ryokan in Osaka(there,re None)maybe stay Hotel(like Rits Carlton or St,Regis one night !Bummer )my friends all excited already.one new young couple is successful Chinese developer, it,s first time visit to Japan so I want to introduce Japan exquisite way,Please help !!!!

Your suggestion of Takefue is the One we are choosing 3 biggest rooms,Sayo,Kokyuan,Bijoan,4 nights-then we are thinking to Hanzuiryo,Unzen,for 4 nights- I need one more in near the Kagoshima prefectures,so far so good,Thank you and to Saru Bob as well!!please give more suggestions -I have plenty of time until next April but want to reserve as soon as possible,please help !!!

Sayo,Kokyuan,Bijoan are excellent choices. You may want to consider experiencing the different room each day; the room itself is the primary attraction of this ryokan.
After ryokan like Takefue, you would be "hard-pressed" to find one with a similar standard in Kagoshima.
I stayed at Hakusuikan last December; nothing like Takefue, but could be the best in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend : http://www.hakusuikan.co.jp/

There are flights from Osaka to Fukuoka Airport. There are some nice Ryokans in the Kansai region too if you decide to stay a night before heading to Kyushu.

You mention luxury hotels in Osaka. Check out small luxury hotels of the world. www.slh.com, they have luxury properties in Kyoto, Nara.
Try Relais and Chateaux, they are particularly fussy with their properties and restaurants. They have one at Hakone.

There are several Luxury quality Ryokans in Izu Peninsular, if you are traveling up that far.

The reason we are stop over in Osaka is to rest for long trip from Los Angeles-contine to Kumamoto is too tiring trip -so I think kansai In,t Airport to nearest city(Kyoto ,Nara would be more tiring )would be Shin-Osaka(near Shinkansen)-because I want to introduce Shinkansen ride to our new friends then stop few hours to Hiroshima,Miyajima-continue to non stop to Kumamoto -to check in to Takefue ryokan stay 4 days then to Nagasaki by Air to Hanzuiryo ryokan for 4 days then want to go to Kagoshima(near Kirishima or Sakurajima ) this way triangle territory of Kyushu all covered -now I need to find Fabulous Ryokan in Shin Osaka for over night and Kagoshima area for 4 days,I google search engine all-it,s not much to find acctually,Liem and Saru Bob found the best one and I am so greatful for that"Tenku no mori"is not really what I want,I want real traditional Japanese Ryokan, and Unique ones ,thanking you all the help,
