Calligraphy Lesson in Kyoto or Nara 2015/7/1 14:09
I bought an entry-level calligraphy set in Nara last year when I went there. But because there is no one to teach me, I'm not sure if what I was doing was right. I watched tutorials in YouTube.

I will be in Japan, autumn of this year in November and I was wondering if I can get a short shodo lesson on the basics of calligraphy in either Kyoto or Nara, I'm staying in the area for 5 days and I wouldn't mind spending a day or half day doing calligraphy.

Can you recommend a place for short term immersion course?

You will find some interesting options via this link:

You can also do a Google search for "Calligraphy Lessons Kyoto," and you will find even more options.

I visited Kazuki's studio in April 2013 with my husband and another couple. We had a great time and Kazuki himself is so nice. Maybe if you tell him exactly what you want to do, he can tailor the lesson. I'm friends with him on Facebook; he's truly a super nice guy.

Thank you so much Ohara and Heidi. I'll probably go to Kazuki-san since I will be staying near the area. :)
