Gotemba Ascent - Yoshida Descent

Hi all,

We are staying in Kawaguchiko, but want to ascend the Gotemba trail and then descend on Yoshida.

I've found train routes from Kawaguchiko St to Gotemba St, but its like 2+ hrs. Does anyone know if taxi or buses travel from Kawaguchiko St to Gotemba St, or every from Kawaguchiko to the Gotemba 5th Station?

There are buses between Kawaguchiko and Gotemba (1 hr). From there you can change to a climbing bus to the 5th Station (40 mins). Here are the relevant timetables:

Note that the climbing buses are not very frequent, especially on weekdays, so you may want to take a(n expensive) taxi to the trailhead instead, especially if you are trying to climb up and down in a daytrip.
