Which is better for 1st timer in Okinawa?
I will be spending 4 -5 days there.

Which appeals to you more? I don't think it matters much. My first time in Okinawa was to Ishigaki/Iriomote/Taketomi. I loved it! I want to go to Naha too though, next trip.

It depends on the season.
If it's already too cold to swim / snorkel, then I would recommend the main island (Naha), otherwise I'd recommend Ishigaki and the surrounding islands. ^____^
Personally I'm a huge fans of the castle ruins in the main island, but I fell in love with the Yaeyama Islands (incl. Ishigaki).
You might also want to consider the Kerama Islands.
You could even do a day trip from Naha to one of these islands. ;)
