Public transport between koya-San and Hongu?

Public transport between koya-San and Hongu?

Doe anyone know if there's a possibility to travel from koya-san to Hongu in September? And if so, how long would this take?

I am not familiar with the route, but searching the web I found the following route
Koyasan (cable car) Gokurakubashi (Nankai Koya line) Hashimoto (JR) Gojo (Nara Kotsu Bus) Kumano Hongu.

It will take 5+ hours.
