Hello, I am looking into climbing Mt Fuji on the 12th, staying in a hut and then waking up early to see the sunrise on the 13th. The only problem is that I will be coming from Osaka. What is the best way to get to the Yoshida trail from Osaka? Also the best way to get to the Yoshida trail that gives me enough time to climb to reach my hut before check-in closes?
THANKS

Hello, I am looking into climbing Mt Fuji on the 12th, staying in a hut and then waking up early to see the sunrise on the 13th.I assume you are referring to the month of August. The only problem is that I will be coming from Osaka. Are you sure? August 12/13 is one of the busiest times of the year to climb Mount Fuji. If you have not made your hut reservations yet, you may have an additional problem. Also, you should expect congestion on the mountain. What is the best way to get to the Yoshida trail from Osaka? It depends on the person (budget, travel preferences). The two main options for travel from Osaka to Kawaguchiko Station are explained on the following page (from Kawaguchiko Station, it is a 1-hour bus ride to the 5th Station): http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html?aFROM=2157_6900Also the best way to get to the Yoshida trail that gives me enough time to climb to reach my hut before check-in closes? The overnight bus gets you there earliest, but I would not be surprised if the bus on the specific date is already booked out. If you take a very early shinkansen of the day, you may be able to make it to the hut in time. It also depends a lot on which hut you stay at. Some are much lower up the mountain than others. Another possible way of travel would be taking an overnight bus to Tokyo and then a bus from there to Mount Fuji.
