Hello, I have a question. I will be visiting Japan in November 2015, staying there for 2 weeks.
1 week will be spent in Tokyo. I wanted to know if I can get to, Tashirojima (cat-island) in a day? Or will I need to stay somewhere over night?
Also does the ferry operate in November to the island?

If you leave relatively early in the morning, it is possible in a day trip.

Yes, they operate year around.
