Takuhaibin drop off near Abikocho Station ? 2015/8/18 17:29
Hello, my friends and I will be travelling from Osaka to Tokyo by bus as part of our Japan trip this November and we are figuring out the best way to send our luggage in Tokyo.

We are staying in an AirBNB space in Tokyo and unfortunately, our host cannot receive our luggage since he lives far from the place we're renting. So for takuhaibin to work for us, we plan to send using 'time zone' feature and receive our luggages in Tokyo by noon in our AirBNB space by ourselves.

We are a group of four adults travelling together with one luggage each. So I'd like to know of the nearest takuhaibin where we can drop off our luggages in Abikocho station or Tennoji station that offers 'time zone delivery /and next day delivery. We will send the luggages around 11am and receive them in Tokyo before noon the next day.

A reply is much appreciated. Thank You!

Recieving:
Yes, possible on next day noon.

But need reciving depo(Takuhaibin delivery sopt/sales office)'s name, address or "ceter code(6 numbers)" first.

Only phone number NOT enough.
However searching sales office page only in JP.

If in around Tokyo 千葉 Chiba、神奈川 Kanagawa、埼玉 Saitama

(note)
Depo business hours not open 24h like convenience store around 20:00 close usual.
Some depos closing on SAT,Sun and National holidays.

Sending:
No need from depo just at nearest convenience store enough.
LAWSON,Family mart,7-11,CircleK Sunks and more.
Convenience stores are only one of sending spot cannot recieve.

Say with "depo dome de(デポ止めで)"
or "eigyou-syo dome de(営業所止めで)" in JP enough.
Time Zone delivery is "jikan- shitei (時間指定)".

Re: Fast delivery service: from Osaka to Tokyo 2015/8/19 11:17
We will send the luggages around 11am and receive them in Tokyo before noon the next day.

It sounds better to plan to receive your parcels in the afternoon or dispatch them on the previous day.

Your accommodation in Osaka City is just near Sumiyoshi Post Office, which is a postal delivery office.
If you choose the optional express delivery [sokutatsu] service and dispatch your parcels before noon from this post office, maybe you can receive them in Tokyo before noon on the following day.

my friends and I will be travelling from Osaka to Tokyo

Where is your accommodation in Tokyo?

Will you have some luggage items which cannot be kept in a trunk room of a bus?

Thanks for the replies.

@omotenashi

Our accommodation in Tokyo is near TM Awajicho & JR Akihabara Station.

We'll travel via overnight bus, Willer bus. And yes, we are also considering bringing the luggage with us on the bus. But the thing is, the bus leaves at 9pm, and we're checking out in the morning by 10am; so we're planning to use the time to go around osaka/namba area. I'm also aware of the manned luggage storage in Shin-osaka station but we're worried of the train transfers; since it will be rush hour by the time we get the luggage and travel to the bus terminal [in Umeda Sky bldg].

Unless we can leave the luggages in Osaka station or Tennoji Station, I think it would be a little inconvenient because of the train transfers. Is there a manned luggage storage in Tennoji or Osaka station? Do you think it will be easy to find lockers for our group at around 11am in these stations?

Re: Delivery service and transportation 2015/8/25 10:42
Let me make a correction. The additional express service seems needless concerning Yu-Pack by Japan Post if you hope to receive your parcels sent from Osaka City in the following morning in Chiyoda City in Tokyo.

Is there a manned luggage storage in Tennoji or Osaka station?

In Osaka Station near the shopping mall LUCUA is a baggage room, which is open from 10:00 to 19:00.

: See the map on Page 3.

However, it seems you cannot avoid a staircase when you walk from Osaka Station to the bus terminal in Umeda Sky Building, so I recommend you minimize the amount of your baggage in advance.

In Shinjuku, you can get from the bus stop (near COCOON Tower and SUBARU Building) to the underground concourse.
If you hope to use Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line from Shinjuku Station (M-08) but avoid staircases, you need to walk to the further gate.
Awajicho Station (M-19) is equipped with one elevator.

On a weekday in and around Tokyo you may encounter a morning or evening rush on railroad.
If you come to Tokyo in early morning on a weekday, it may be better to wait a little until Shinjuku Station and departing trains get less crowded.
