earliest any snow in outdoor onsen honshu 2015/8/23 22:59
Hi i am travelling to Japan in November from 13th till 26th.. was hoping to see some snow while bathing in an outdoor onsen. I was thinking my best bet would be to go as up north and high up in the mountain, and towards the end of my trip.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which onsen to visit to try my luck?

Thank you

Celia

How about Manza Onsen, not very far from Tokyo. It is about 1800m above sea level. Very good chance of snow. If you are going to drive, they actually require chain or snow tires from early November.

I second Manza onsen.

But better chance of snow at the end of Nov :
Nisshinkan has very good deal for 1 night stay with 2 meals and round trip bus from Shinjuku, Tokyo
