Best way to travel around Tokyo and Osaka 2015/8/23 23:12
Hello everyone,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to travel around Tokyo and Osaka (including Kobe and Nara). Would anyone know which train ticket is best for me to purchase?

The three of us (inc my wife and 1 year old daughter) will be arriving in Tokyo on the 8th, going to Osaka on the 10th, going back to Tokyo on the 13th and leaving to Indonesia on the 17th.

The last time I went to Japan I got a JR pass for the whole trip. I'm looking at a more price friendly alternative (for example, buying separate tickets for certain trip).

Thank you!

The 7-day JR Pass will pay off since you are making a round-trip between Tokyo and Osaka. You can also use the Pass to get to Nara and Kobe.

The JR Pass may seem expensive, but it is a really good deal - a shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka (one way) costs more than 13,000 yen!
