Visited Tottori? overnight or day trip?

Our train gets to Tottori at noon. We have to either be back at Tottori Station at 5:30 or stay overnight and leave early the next morning. How much time is needed to see the museum, sand dunes, chairlift, perhaps camel ride, getting to/from station? Is 5 hours sufficient or should we plan to stay overnight?

5 is sufficient. It is not the usual size of a museum and can be walked pretty quickly. The dunes and rides do not take much time either.

the sand dunes and the sand museum are side by side, so 5hrs including running up n rolling down the dunes is doable.
there are rocky cliffs n beaches in tottori as well, but maybe not your cup of tea

Tottori is a small town, the main attraction would be the sand dune. We visited Tottori 2 years ago, spent less than 5 hours , mainly visiting the sand dune. Tottori is famous for its crabs, so do try their kani bento.
