Kawaguchiko to Kyoto 2015/9/15 20:49
Hello, I am looking for a way to get to Kyoto from Kawaguchiko. I've checked the fujikyu bus, but it seems that it only stops at Gotemba now..Do you know where I could find a timetable ? I'm planning to go via Mishima and the JR shinkensen.

Also, how big is the lake ? How long would it take to go around by walking only?

Thank you for your help :)

There are regular express buses between Kawaguchiko and Mishima, but more frequent connections if you transfer at Gotemba. Here's the timetable:

and more info about the route:

It's about 20 km around, so maybe 4-6 hours depending on the person.

Area is 7.1km. Walking area is not smooth.
Expect about 3 hours walking.

According to Hyperdia:
Fujikyu to Otsuki
Azusa to Hachioji
JR Yokohama to Shin-Yokohama
Nozomi to Kyoto

Japanese wikipedia has it at 5.5 square km, but really it's the perimeter that makes a difference. And although it is relatively flat, with paved roads the whole way around, three hours is a little fast for the average walker to do the 20 km circuit.
