Hi helpers!!
I am planning to do the kumano kodo in two days: 1. Tanabe-Takihiri ( bus ) and Takihiri to Chikatsuyu ( foot ). 2.Chikatsuyu-Honghu.
As I have checked several information about the zone ( official information ) all of them calculates aroun 3km per hour as an average distance on foot what looks very low ( I think at least 4,5 km is a reasonable in mountains as usual rythym is 5km ),I couldnLt find anyone who has done it so,can you help me?
Is that 3kms due the kind of road?It could be achievable to start in Chikatsuyu arrival to Honghu in a reasonable time?Around how many time?I am thinking to arrive to Honghu and take a bus to Yunonime to spend there 2 days.
Thaaaaankkksss in advance

I have only walked small sections, just like Mfedley, but I have to agree. Check out his third report.
You will be walking on a misty morning down a path with wet mossy rocks. I took the uphill paths a little faster, because it I fell going up, I though I would just fall forward. On the ones downhill, I felt that if I slipped, I would tumble down the path, and really hurt myself. You will go faster in some area, but the pace they gave you is reasonable.
I hope this helps.
