When is the best time to view autumn leaves at their best color in Shirakawago and/or Kurobe Gorge? Someone told me that late October is best for Kurobe. Is October 12th too early?

I think 12th OCT could be too early. I was there 2 years ago in early Novemeber, the colour was great in the Badadani area, but still a lot of green in Unazuki .
