visit Nikko / Autumn color change palce 2015/10/7 03:41
Hi,
I will be in Tokyo from 17th to 20 th of October 2015.
I wish to go to any Autumn color change place like NIKKO from Tokyo on one day trip by JR RAIL PASS + LOCAL TRIP.

I wish to do it on my own preferably or through an economic tour operator.
Is it worth spending one full day to see autumn leaf color change
going so long
OR
can I see autumn leaf color change in Mt. Fuji itself.
Pl. guide me

Do note that if you are considering Nikko, I've been warned by Tobu Tours (who issues the Nikko Passes) that buses up to Chuzenji may take around 3 hours on average due to the autumn colors. Given that, you may need 1 day or even more if you intend to go further up. However, if you are staying within station vicinity, then I guess it should be okay.

I would not think it's strange to spend a whole day on autumn foilage. Prior to my trip this April, I thought I would be sakura-ed out, but there's a lot more to do other than just staring at leaves. Different places will offer different scenery.

I'm heading up to Nikko myself during my trip next week. :)
