12 days in japan with 7days JR pass?

hello,
my 12 days plan to ( tokyo - osaka -kyoto)

my arrival date is 29/12 to narita airport , and the departure frome the same airport.

my plan is:

1 day tokyo
4 days osaka (between go and come back to kyoto one day tour)
7 days tokyo (maybe one day staying in fuji)

so what do you think about this plan??

and how can i take the JR pass?? what to do with the other days??

another Q about the new year in osaka .. is the tours attraction places is open??
is it better to be in tokyo or osaka in the new year

Your arrival day in Tokyo, the 4 in Osaka and the first two days of the return to Tokyo will be covered by the 7-consecutive-day rail pass. On the rest of the days, people use an IC card like the SUICA to get around.

I think that depends on your itinerary and your plans. Can you land at KIX instead of NRT? If you have an open-jaw ticket (land in Osaka and leave from Tokyo), then you wouldn't need the JR Pass and can get by on individual tickets alone. If you get to Tokyo early enough and don't mind using that day to get to Osaka (4:30 more hours travelling), then you can use an extra day (or morning) in Osaka or Kyoto before your return to Tokyo. In either case, it depends on what your plans are.
