When will be the ropeway be closed till? Does this mean that we cannot hike in this period (december 2015)?

The ropeway is currently open between Togendai and Ubako, but you can expect the rest of the route to remain closed indefinitely. Hiking around Owakudani is also suspended indefinitely.
