Yokoso! Osaka pass 2015/11/28 17:29
Hello! I have a question about the Yokoso! Osaka pass. We will be arriving in KIX in about 7 pm, and our hotel is in Nippombashi, so I plan on taking the Nankai train to Namba. I know the Yokoso! Osaka pass covers that train BUT my question is, after taking the Nankai train, can I use the pass for the following morning? Since I will not be able to ride the subway/train anymore when I arrive late at night anyway.

Basically I've found information in these websites

http://www.osaka-info.jp/en/plan/practical_information/travel_passes/y...

and

http://www.howto-osaka.com/en/ticket/ticket/yokoso.html

That says the pass is valid during the day of boarding, or the day after the date on the pass. But on the pdf

http://www.howto-osaka.com/global/pdf/ticket/2014yokoso_en.pdf

It seems that the pass and the nankai train ticket are separate, so I was just wondering if you can use the pass for subways etc the day after boarding the Rapi:t train. I can probably buy a discounted Nankai train ticket and a One-day Eco pass, but if the Yokoso! Osaka pass is doable it would be a lot cheaper :/

I hope this question makes sense!

I haven't used the pass before, but according to the first website, the pass covers subways/buses either on the date of purchase or the following day.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I know that, but my problem is I want to use the Nankai Train on the first day, and the subways etc on the second day. I think it's only possible if you use both on the same day if availing of the next day option, but i don't know... I've emailed the Osaka tourism office but they haven't replied.

Well, Nankai might have not so many officers who can reply in English :) or your e-mail fell into the spam mail folder.

Anyway, this pass is identical to 大阪出張きっぷ which is sold all the travelers including Japanese.

http://www.nankai.co.jp/traffic/otoku/trip

This site states that

乗車日当日に限り有効。ただし大阪市営地下鉄・ニュートラム・バスについては、当日または翌日のいずれか1日有効。

meaning "valid for the same day you board on the train (Rapi:t limited express). As for the municipal subways, new-tram and bus, you can use the pass on the boarding (on the Rapi:t) day OR the next day.

So you can use the Nankai ticket on day 1 and then use the subway/new tram/bus pass on day 2.

Thank you! I didn't find that while researching, probably because I was just looking for the Yokoso! Osaka pass and not its Japanese counterpart.

I suppose I'll just pick it up when I arrive in KIX, thank you!
