Question on Kyoto Randen 1 day pass

Hello,
From my research, I found that the Kyoto Randen 1 day pass can only be purchase from 4 stations:
- Shijo Omiya
- Katabiranotsuji
- Arashiyama
- Kitano-Hakubaicho
If I want to take the tram from Ryoan-ji Station to Arashiyama Station, can I purchase the 1 day pass at either Katabiranotsuji Station or Arashiyama Station and use it to pay the fare for the earlier Ryoanji-to-Arashiyama Station ride?
