marukoma onsen ryokan to Noboribetsu

I will be going from Marukoma Onsen Ryokan to Noboribetsu Onsen by public transport

I am wondering if there is any easier way besides taking the ryokan shuttle to shikotsuko onsen and then take the Chuo bus to minami chitose and then take a JR train to Noboribetsu. It is not impossible but is troublesome with so many transfer

As Marukoma onsen's website, there is Chuo bus from Shikotsu ko to Chitose or Chitose minami train station.

This bus from Shikotsuko depature at 9:50, 12:50, 15:45, 17:45 duration 40 miuites to Chitose train station, duration 45 miuites to Chitose minami train station. The costs 930 yen between Shikotsuko and Chitose train station.

Then you can take the train to Noboribetsu.

You'll love it. The lakeside bathing is memorable, and IIRC the breakfast is great too.
