Asahikawa Winter Festival & Asahiyama Zoo

Hi, will it be possible to visit both Asahikawa Winter Festival + Asahiyama Zoo in 1 day ? Or will it be better if I split 2 days? Thanks

It can be quite easily done in a single day. Assuming you start and end the day in Asahikawa or somewhere relatively nearby (Sapporo is close enough - with an early start).

As Uji said, it's possible to do both in one day (especially if you're staying in the city itself or somewhere within easy reach, like Sapporo).

In my case, I arrived at the zoo around 11:00 - in time for the first Penguin Walk - and finished at around 13:00, with hours of daylight left to spare for the festival. (If you're deeply interested in all of the wildlife exhibits then it might take you longer.) In the end, I returned to Sapporo right away because I wanted to spend the evening in Otaru, so I came back to Asahikawa for the festival on the following day.
