I second the Churaumi Aquarium. Has got to be the best in Japan.

I liked the experiences in Okinawa. I went to a free karate class at the Naha tourist center. I liked eating Naha ramen and pork dishes. I liked the hot weather!

Thank you guys. These are awesome ideas! Okinawa has always been a curiosity for me because my hubby has lived here when his family was stationed at the base. The fact that it's not on mainland Japan is what makes it far more interesting. :-)

I was there last December.
Among the places I visited I would suggest these ones.
- Churaumi aquarium (as many people suggest) - Kouri Island - Cape Manzamou - Neo Park in Nago (like a small zoo, but many birds walk around freely in different areas) - Busena Marine Park

Okinawa is really the ideal place for people who loves adventure. I recommend Naha for it's the most convenient and popular destination for families.
