Seconding hotels - they tend to do the best breakfasts if you want anything more elaborate than just pastry and coffee.
Note that of the 4000 places listed in the second link, many of them serve food like udon noodles and some of them don't open until 10 or 11am.

Hotel is Monterey Grasmere. They have breakfast in hotel, but I would prefer local food. What worries me is that, as far as I saw, the local cafe's are not open before 10 am. Am I wrong or....?

If you really want a traditional Japanese breakfast, with grilled fish, miso soup, natto, raw egg and so on, again hotels are the best place to get one. (Most Japanese people would eat breakfast at home, so there's not much call for breakfast restaurants.)
Alternatively, family restaurants like Denny's also serve breakfasts, both Japanese and non-Japanese style.
Most cafes don't open until 11 or 11:30am, although a few open at 10 or even earlier....

http://www.yayoiken.com/en/store/Yayoiken was my go to place in Osaka City for lunch. Some branches are 24hours. I've never seen their breakfast menu though, but I reckon they have the broiled fish that is part of some Japanese set breakfast.

Thank you all for advice and recommendations. Looking at photos of food I think I'll have to order a double portion :)

Hi. If you really want to,go local and don't mind some extra distance, why not try the traditional markets. There's the famous Kuromon Ichiba , many dubbed as Osaka's kitchen. Lots of stalls provides chairs where you can eat inside. The market is within 8-10mins walk from your hotel. http://kuromon.com/en.phpOr you can hit Endo sushi, in the vicinity of Osaka Central Fresh Market. Again, many resto there and can be crowded in the early mornings. Its one subway line from Namba + 10-15mins walk. Or grab taxi which should cost around 1500-2000yen http://www.endo-sushi.com/english.html
